There were even strange wooden contraptions with photographic elements where you placed your foot under a green glow for spacing to be revealed below in an underwater green negative view of your booted feet. Start Rite sandals with their cut out patterns and shining side buckles nestling in a box of tissue paper. What could be nicer. And the Start Rite children hand in hand calling to you from a poster on a wall... Didn't you long to walk down that sunny country road alongside those two endearing emblems of vintage childhood in your new shoes just like them ?! Walking happy ever after... Of course you did!
