Footprints 14 This Little Piggy

Those early nursery rhymes have alot to answer for! How many piggies of yours went to market and how many stayed at home over those junior formative years? The fascination with scrummy infant feet with their perfect little nails like miniature pink shells placed on the end of each teeny toe is something every doting parent can relate to. Add the predisposition of toes and feet to being one of the most ticklish areas of the anatomy and you can see why they get such attention from the start. Little knitted booties tied with white ribbon and later little shoes with soft button fastenings are enough to get most adults cooshie-cooing. Look at all the little casts made of baby feet displayed in silver, bronze and alabaster- something Queen Victoria herself was partial to with her growing family. Pretty keepsakes of special times crystallising moments of perfection and beauty in the infant calender for ever. This way little piggies..
