Hello Feet Peeps
Christmas is a time for dressing up. Especially feet. They cry out for glamour to get them through the chill winter blues. So the thrill of unwrapping a childhood present of silvery glittery clear plastic preform of faux dance shoes still remains. The thick elastic straps that went over the toes and another for the arch of the foot were impossible and made walking in them a percarious activity. But they fired the imagination with Cinderella dreams even if they ended up on top of a wardrobe cracked and split from failed attempts to successfully wobble in them. And that is what the shoe is for my dears. Fuel for our personal dreamscape to run riot -where we can dance with princes - and princesses - twirl whirl and swirl... And never trip up or turn into pumpkins.
Happy dancing little toes...
It is true; the best thing about Cinderella’s shoes is that they aren't real, but a cue for the imagination. Ones fantasy feet can help us imagine all manner of things I suppose, although I don’t quite like the thought of becoming a pumpkin! I can feel my slippers taking me back know to the Christmas just gone...and forward to the one coming. I wonder if Dorothy’s wonderful red shoes helped her with foresight, hindsight or the present in the Land of Oz? With all those beautiful sequins, maybe they were just for marvel and magic.
